How This Started
Here's what a typical day looks like at most Indian colleges: a professor walks into a lecture, pulls out a register, and spends 5-10 minutes calling out names. Students miss announcements because nobody checks the notice board. Assignment submissions get lost in WhatsApp group chats. Fee records live in Excel files that only one person knows how to maintain.
None of this is complicated to fix. But the software that exists for colleges is either too expensive, too complex, or too disconnected to solve the daily reality. Enterprise ERPs that cost lakhs and take months to deploy. Attendance apps that don't connect to fees. Fee systems that don't talk to the admissions portal.
CampusMint was built to be the straightforward alternative. One platform that handles the things colleges actually do every day — attendance, fees, admissions, exams, study materials, assignments, announcements — without the complexity or the price tag.
What We're Trying to Do
Save professors' time. Give admins clarity. Keep students informed.
Every feature goes through a simple question: "Will this actually get used in a real college, by a real professor, on a regular Monday morning?" If the answer isn't a clear yes, we don't build it.
What Makes This Different
🎯 Focused on Daily Operations
We don't try to be a full enterprise ERP. CampusMint focuses on the 9 things colleges use every single day: Attendance, Fees & Online Payments, Admissions, Exams & Results, Study Materials, Assignments, Announcements, Academic Structure, and Reporting. No bloated modules that nobody asked for.
⚡ Attendance That Takes 10 Seconds
Our attendance system defaults every student to present. The professor just taps on whoever is absent. For a class of 60, that's done in under 10 seconds. On their phone. Between lectures. No laptop, no register, no wasted class time.
💰 Fees That Actually Get Collected
Admins set up fee structures, students pay online via UPI or card through Cashfree, and receipts generate automatically. The dashboard shows exactly who has paid and who hasn't — no more cross-referencing spreadsheets.
📱 Works on a Phone, Even on Slow Networks
Most professors don't carry laptops to class. The Android app works on phones running Android 7.0 and above, and it handles patchy connectivity gracefully. Because a tool that needs perfect WiFi in an Indian college classroom isn't a real tool.
🇮🇳 Built in India, for Indian Colleges
Semester systems, SGPA/CGPA, admission cycles, fee installment patterns — CampusMint was designed around how Indian colleges actually operate. We're in the same timezone, and support is a WhatsApp message away.
What We Believe
- If it needs a manual, it's too complicated. The interface should explain itself.
- Every second counts. A professor's time between lectures is limited. Don't waste it.
- It has to work in the real world. Slow networks, old phones, crowded classrooms — that's where this needs to perform.
- Listen more than you assume. The colleges using CampusMint shape what we build next.
Who Built This
CampusMint was built by Satish Yadav, a BSc Computer Science student at Thakur College in Mumbai. He spent his college years watching paper registers, lost assignments, fee confusion, and WhatsApp-as-a-platform happen around him every day. The decision to build CampusMint wasn't a startup revelation — it was more like, "this should exist, and I know enough to build it."
The result is a platform that reflects what a person inside a college would actually want: something that works quickly, doesn't require IT training, and handles the boring but important operational stuff so that professors can teach and students can focus.
